The short version: we store as little as we can, most of it stays in your own browser, and we run no ads and no trackers.
Who we are
Kleerdrobe (kleerdrobe.nl) is operated from the Netherlands and is the controller for the data described on this page. For anything privacy-related, email privacy@kleerdrobe.nl.
What stays in your browser
Your basket, sizes, favourite brands, budget and colour preferences live in your browser's local storage, on your device. We use them to filter and rank your feed. They are sent to our server only as part of the request that fetches your results, and we don't keep them there. Clearing your browser data removes them.
The one cookie we set
If you sign in, we set a single cookie, kleerdrobe_session, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is strictly necessary for the sign-in you asked for, which is why Dutch law (Telecommunicatiewet art. 11.7a) does not require a consent banner for it. We use no advertising or analytics cookies and no tracking pixels.
If you create an account
We store your email address, your name if you give one, and a salted hash of your password — we cannot read the password itself. We use this only to sign you in. Legal basis: providing the account you asked for (contract). We keep it until you delete your account: email privacy@kleerdrobe.nl and we will erase it within 30 days.
If you use the virtual try-on
The photo you upload is sent over an encrypted connection to OpenAI, our AI processor in the United States, together with the product images, to generate the try-on picture. We never store your photo — it exists on our server only while your request runs. Under OpenAI's API terms, inputs may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days to monitor abuse and are not used to train its models; the transfer is covered by OpenAI's EU–US Data Privacy Framework certification. Legal basis: this processing happens only when you choose to upload a photo. Please don't upload photos of other people without their permission.
If you use the AI search
Your search text is sent to OpenAI to be turned into structured filters. Search text is not stored by us and is not linked to your account.
What we never do
No ads, no tracking pixels, no selling or sharing of data, no profiling beyond the preferences you set yourself.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy — email privacy@kleerdrobe.nland we'll respond within 30 days. Since most data sits in your own browser, you can also simply clear it yourself. If you believe we handle your data improperly, you have the right to complain to the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Third-party content
Product data and prices are sourced from Zalando, Bever and De Bijenkorf; product images load directly from their servers, which see your IP address as with any image on the web. Brand ratings come from Good On You; footprint figures are our own estimates from public LCA data — methodology here.
